Students work as quarantine officers to find the patients with swine flu.
Pages: 12
How to use:
This was made to go along with the OC book at my school, thus the somewhat random vocabulary.
Procedure for larger classes:
1) Divide the class in half. Half of the students are doctors (give them pages 1 and 2. Half of the students are patients (randomly give them one of the patient pages).
2) Doctors will ask patients if they exhibit any of the symptoms. ("Do you have a cough?") If the patient says yes, they will draw a circle. If the patient says no, they will draw an X.
3) Doctors use the disease chart to determine what the patient is infected with. Depending on the level of your students, have them outline a treatment plan as well ("You should take medicine," "You should rest," etc).
4) First doctor to find all the patients with swine flu wins!
It's up to you how many patients have what disease. If you do two rounds, switch the roles of the students (doctors become patients and vice versa). In round one, I gave only a few patients swine flu and in round two I gave almost half the patients swine flu.
Cute worksheet. Thanks!
All your stuff is awesome! Thanks a million!!
